Oh What A Weekend!!!!
Our reunion weekend began with a low-key mixer at the hotel. There was a large group of our Classmates that were ready to celebrate 40 years of being considered a ‘grown up’. They certainly didn’t party like grown-ups! Classmates that had obligations for Saturday night were there and that made the evening great.
On Saturday night our Student Body President, Glen Gertmenian, gave a warm welcome and took roll call. After some fun comments he dismissed us to dinner. Dinner was a great time to reminisce with classmates seated at our table.
While finishing up dinner, and after the brave folks put their glasses on, we had a slide show of our Mills, Mitchell, and Cordova days. We will try to get this on our website for others to view and for those who wouldn’t wear their glasses!
Our Student Body Vice-President, Mike Burke, reported on the Class Golf Tourney and shared some fun stories from the day. He toasted the Classmates we’ve lost and added some of his Cordova memories.
Jeannie Marcarelli shared some of her special Cordova memories.
We snickered and laughed throughout Greg Snider’s ‘Last Stand’. I won’t elaborate, because I couldn’t do him justice.
We chatted, danced, hugged, and no one wanted the evening to end.
I wish to thank Cathy McGee-Piert for all of her support for the past 3 reunions. She was our webmaster and kept us financially on track. BIG JOBS!
What would this reunion be without Claudia Hobbs-Flickinger? She made over one thousand phone calls and sent hundreds of emails! She was the pest that made classmates attend just to get her to quit calling.
Our sincere thanks to her.
Mike Burke and Connie Breen put on a fun day of golf! Everyone had a wonderful time, no matter what their scores were. Connie did a fabulous job decorating the event room. We are grateful to both of them for all their contributions over the years for our class reunions.
Thank you to everyone who has attended our reunions for the past 40 years. Your attendance is what made them fun, successful, and special.
